Week 2 – Week of Peace
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Today’s Advent activity.
Read Deuteronomy 18:15-19. Remember the person we prayed over yesterday? Write them a note and let them know you’ve been praying for them. Send it in the mail (I know…snail mail. But people love getting something handwritten and personal.)
Isaiah 53:5 says: “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” It is through Jesus that we are forgiven for our sins and are made right before God. We are given peace and are able to stand before God, made whole, due only to the loving death of Jesus Christ. He couldn’t take our place on the cross without first coming to us as a babe.
This week let us consider the peace we are gifted. What a gift indeed!
