New year and decade! I am always so amazed at how quickly the time flies by. I’ve got big dreams for 2020 and I pray they align with the plans God has for me! But first, a recap (for my feeble mind to remember next year) of the goodies that graced my cookie tray in 2019.
This year for Christmas Eve service at church, I piled all of the goodies on a decorated cookie sheet and allowed them to fill their gift tins with their favorites. Neighbors got cookie trays filled with all of the goodies. Baking and baking is one of the best way to spend the holiday. I can have the Bible app reading scripture to me or I can have the Christian music station playing while I boogie and bake. It makes to so happy to show love through sweets!
This year, I created:
Chocolate Crinkles
An oldie but a favorite in our household. Sonny-boy requested them this year. If you haven’t made them in awhile, you outta change that. Chocolate goodness wrapped in powered sugar. They were always my favorite growing up.
Shortbread Funfetti
Who doesn’t love shortbread and an easy recipe? This is for you!
Espresso Gingerbread Chewies
I really don’t know how to name these bad-boys but they’re a family favorite. They’re basically a brown sugar sugar cookie with gingerbread spices and ground espresso added in for fun before being rolled in brown sugar. They’re chewy and warm on the tongue and addicting!
Sausage Cheddar Biscuits
You can’t only offer sweets. There are bound to be those who long for a savory bite and these biscuits are the bomb! I make them often for my son and any cookie tray would be lacking without them!
Pecan Pie Muffins
Family favorite, made throughout the year. Honestly, you’ve got to whip these up! You’ll thank me later. I promise. Really. One bowl. Very few ingredients. Pop one in your mouth and you’ll be in Heaven!
Chocolate Chocolate Muffins
These are for the kid in all of us! They’re obviously chocolatey and melty and oh, so, yummy. You could make them in mini muffin tins but why would you?
Deciding what to bake and gift is half the fun (and stress) each Christmas. I want to show my friends and neighbors how much we love them so only the best recipes are allowed onto their cookie trays! All the recipes will be posted next week and links will be provided – get ready to wow your family and friends!
