Start date delayed due to flu. Apologies in advance!!
I was really excited to be finally working on a dresden quilt – it’s been on my To-Do list for years! I decided to loosely follow the pattern you see above with a few changes here and there. My design was underway and I was patting myself on the back for being so organized when a big-o dose of Humble Pie was served! Out for a week due to the flu! It’s been a week and I am still feeble-brained. Dizzy.
Cutting fabric right now would not be a wise move. Like driving. That’s not an option either.
I had already made a few design changes and the first was changing the block with the appliqued “Quilts” for two more dresden blocks. It was just a little too modern for me to include.
Dresden Sampler Getting Started
If you’re still on the fence about joining in, you still have time (thank you, Mr. Flu). Pick out some fabrics (you know you have stash to use) and get your supplies (do you have your templates and book?).
This week’s work:
- Gather your supplies.
- Pick out your fabrics (for me, by far, the most difficult step).
- Read through Susan’s book a little to get a feel for the projects.
- Sign up for Susan’s Facebook group, Dresden Quilt Workshop
- Get ready for a faster-paced sewalong ~ I’m shooting for 6-8 weeks (I’m talking to you again, Mr. Flu)

This is absolutely gorgeous! So sorry you had the flu, but I think you’re right not to cut any fabric until you’re back to normal!!
