Love Letter to Jesus

The holiday season floodgates have opened!  Are you ready for the commercial madness to begin?

As a Christian, I often feel conflicted about the amount of time and money spent trying to find “that perfect gift” for a loved one.  Or the time spent going from party to party.  My soul seeks quiet and introspection to seek a deeper relationship with Jesus.

I’m starting a Daily Bible Reading

Rather than grow frustrated and find myself lost in the rush of the season, I have found a Bible Plan from BibleStudyTools.com that is a 3-month chronological New Testament study guide.  I love that if I begin today (November 9, 2018), I’ll wrap up right before Valentine’s Day.  What better way to say “I Love You” to Jesus than to read His story?

I’ve taken the liberty of copying the plan from the Bible Study Tools website which includes a link to the reading for the day.  If you follow the link to their page, you’ll see they provide different translations. I love that!  It’s helpful to have your Bible with you as you read on the computer, so you can read your Bible’s version as well as make notes as the Spirit moves you.

Enjoy the Season but remember the Reason

It’s easy to get caught up in rushing around and we focus more on the lights and the tree and the presents.  That often leads to emptiness and feeling like something is missing.  It’s no wonder that the holiday season is often one where people suggest they’re depressed.  What they’re missing is JESUS!  Follow along.  Maybe we can make the season brighter with a feeling of closeness to the babe who gave it all for us!
