Do you have a community? A group of people you consider friends or those you call when you’re in need? I don’t have a group like that anymore, after we moved to rural Oklahoma from Houston (that’s a completely different story). I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately with the recent forced quarantines we’re all living through. I bet we’re all thinking a lot about that lately.
To help us feel a little less alone in the world, Moda has generously offered with Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co. a FREE copy of the Village pattern.
It’s Charm pack friendly. Loads of quilters are going to be sewing blocks and sharing them on Instagram using the hashtag #modavillage.
I know it’s hard to feel connected to one another over social media. Pretty pictures don’t replace genuine conversations or hugs. But, maybe we can offer each other a sense of normal by participating in a casual sew along. Want to share charm packs? Maybe that would be a nice way to connect, much like the signature blocks former quilters used to create.
Reach out to each other. Make friends with your neighbors. Use this time we’ve been given to really spend time with your family. Let’s turn this situation around and use it as a blessing from God rather than feeling trapped and alone!
Monday I’m going to do a Give Away on Instagram of loads of charm squares I’m going to cut from my fabric shop. Do you follow me on Instagram? I’m @yellowrosejenny if you’d like to participate in the Give Away.
I’ll be praying for all of you while I cut 5″ squares this weekend, wondering who will create a colorful quilt with them!
Until then, be blessed and stay safe!

I absolutely love this quilt! How gorgeous! And I’m trying to see this as a blessing right now. We have more time together than we probably ever will. My husband travels so much for his job that it’s just nice to have him home for a change!
