It’s Friday! It’s Friday! You know what that means: Fabric Fridays!!
I am deeming this first quarter of 2020 the Season of greens, blues and browns. You’ll understand why when you take a look at the fabric lines that are being offered in shops (my own included) right now.
Designers tend to gravitate towards releasing lines that are similar to what others are releasing and I don’t know if I like that! What I mean is that I want variety and to create scrappy quilts. If they’re all similar to each other, either in color or patterns, we could easily put the lines together in one big-o line.
What do you think?
Harvest Road by Lella Boutique
True, this line was released in late 2019, but it led the way on the newest color combinations about to be offered. I really like Lella Boutique and her pretty floral prints. And I like the dots and gingham prints included in Harvest Road.
At Home with Bonnie and Camille
Ahhh, Bonnie and Camille. The fabric designers who started my love of quilting. Their fabrics speak to lots of quilters. Their prints coveted and FQ bundles saved on shelves. With their newest line, At Home with Bonnie and Camille, they’ve split the colorways into two offerings. The colorway that we’re discussing (the blues, greens and greys) belong to Camille’s “At Home.” If you want the whole line, both Bonnie’s and Camille’s, you’ll have to buy two separate FQ bundles, 2 jelly rolls, 2 …well, you get the idea.
Gingham Farm
My Mind’s Eye recently released Gingham Farm for Riley Blake Designs. Equally stunning. The florals. The gingham prints. This line has black as the darkest print while the others lean towards brown and grey. Do you have a preference?
Do you see yourself creating with any of these lines? I’m using Harvest Road in my Trip Around the World quilt but I’m making it using 2.5″ square pieces rather than 4″ squares. What do you think of my first block?
Have a great weekend!
