NIV Lifehacks Bible
Ya’ll know I love my Bibles. I really can’t help myself when I see a “new” one that might lead to a deeper relationship in my walk with Christ. This NIV Lifehacks Bible is new to me and is one I would suggest you look in to!
From the back cover “…uses “lifehacking” methods to give you practical and achievable tools to integrate spiritual habits into your busy, technology-centric, 21st century life. With 365 articles covering 30 life-changing disciplines, not only does this Bible illuminate scriptural wisdom on spiritual practices, it provides practical tips and strategies for applying them every day. You’ll find these and other articles inside the Bible:
4 Tips for making wise decisions
6 Steps for interpreting the Bible
7 Questions for recognizing intentional sins
4 Tips for finding time to pray
Inside the Bible
I really love the Practical pages. I realize these additions are just thoughts from other humans but all of us need each other to strengthen our understanding of what we’re reading. Having these pages is like a mini-devotional lesson. One example was a page titled Self-Assessment on Vocation as taken from Jeremiah 29:11. Everything we do and say should point us back to our roles as servants (slaves) to God. What jobs we professional have can and should be our way of living as a Christian in the world and how we serve our neighbors. See what I mean about it being like a mini devotional? We get to delve a little deeper into The Word answering questions about specific scripture!
What’s inside?
The Alphabetical List of Articles by Title is awesome! It offers the Scripture and the habit it is trying to help the reader perfect. The list is ten pages long so that tells you how many chances you have to better yourself! It also offers a Through the Bible in a Year schedule which I appreciate! Towards the back, after the Bible itself, there’s a Subject Index which really rocks! Feel like looking up “Commitment?” It’ll point you to 2 Samuel, Psalm 90 and Romans 8.
There’s also an Index to Readings by Habit. Feel like you need to study Faithfulness? It’ll point you back to specific Scripture within the Bible where you can dig deeper. Like a lot of Bibles, color maps are included at the very back and NIV Lifehacks Bible is no exception.
Is it really worth it?
I was able to snag a “Like New” Bible on eBay (not sponsored but linked to help you out) so I can’t offer an opinion on the “value” of buying another Bible. Mine cost $12 which included the shipping. My thought is that I would spend much more on a new devotional. I absolutely consider this a great value and would happily give it as a gift!
Until next time, many Blessings, and whatever Bible you read, keep reading!
